Giorgos Charalambous is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the Department of Politics and Governance, University of Nicosia. His research interests lie in the areas of party politics, the radical left in Europe, the domestic politics of European integration, mobilisation, and political behaviour, and southern European and Cypriot politics. His ongoing research is focusing on party organisation, the political dimension of the post-2008 crisis, especially in southern European countries, the relationship between left radicalism and populism and the historical evolution of the European radical left. His latest publications include Left Radicalism and Populism in Europe (Routledge 209, collective work co-edited with G. Ioannou) and ‘Radical left parties, counter-hegemony and the EU’ Soundings: A journal of politics and culture, Issue 73, Winter 2019-20, pp. 87-101.
